Tuesday 16th: Snow and Ice Delays
It started to snow on Sunday and only stopped last night around 5pm. We got about 8 inches of snow! Growing up in the North East this is nothing to me, but here in the South, this is as close to the apocalypse as you get. That's not to mention we have been in the low teens to single digits for the last week (currently 4). Most businesses are closed and since we don't have any real plows down here the roads are treacherous.
I have a jeep wrangler so I picked up The Kid and we are here doing what we can to get the orders ready. Unfortunately, FedEx has just informed me most of Memphis is grounded, and they had only a handful of drivers show up. Most main roads are barely passable, with side country roads very bad. FedEx will not be shipped. today
Our local Munford USPS is not answering the phone so I have to assume they are closed as well.

Expect Shipping Delays

Wednesday 17th
I just spoke with USPS and our local office has reopened but they are unsure if they will be getting a truck in or out.
FedEx has still not picked anything up so I'm unsure of the status. I'll drop the orders off again, but they might not get to the hub.
We are expecting another 8 inches of snow today. I tried to get into the office this morning but the roads are treacherous. I was sliding all over with 4-wheel drive engaged. Sorry, my friends, but the safety of the team is first and as it stands today's orders will not be shipping.
Thursday 18th
Snow has finally stopped. We have an additional 8 inches on top of the 7 inches on top of the 1/2 inch of ice with more ice and sleet expected intermittent throughout the day. Welcome to the Dirty-South! Even if I managed to get into the office today nothing will be open anyway. FedEx will not send out drivers to pick up and the USPS will be closed. If I hear differently I will do my best to get in and ship otherwise please consider XS closed today.

UPDATE Friday 19th
The Kid and I will be getting into the office to ship today. As of this morning, FedEx has not picked up the box and it's doubtful they will today. The roads are still snow and ice-covered. The great southern thaw commences tomorrow (Saturday) when temps will finally get above freezing.

From the National Weather Service:
Wintry precipitation has come to an end across most of the Mid- South, but treacherous travel conditions will continue. Many roads across the area remain covered in snow and sleet. Any snow that melted today will quickly refreeze as temperatures fall overnight, resulting in a layer of black ice on areas that have been cleared. This melting and refreezing pattern is expected to continue into the weekend. Travel remains discouraged across the Mid-South.
