Okay so I've been putting this off for a while until I knew for certain what was happening.

Hormones, or ectohormones as pheromones are known, are essentially steroids or precursors to steroids. There are some molecules we cannot obtain as they are a DEA scheduled drugs. On the other hand some countries ban very common substances such as Australia's ban on Androsterone. Of course you could probably obtain it illegally but you risk seizure, fines and maybe even jail time. As a business we cannot do that as we undermine the entire industry.

So very recently we were notified a pheromone molecule we have been using for a long-while has be rescheduled by the DEA. Here's what I have since learned as to why. Apparently this molecule, is now an integral part of a pre-development study that's going to help people with something...maybe. So the way pharmaceuticals work is first comes the change to the schedule so nobody else can obtain it except their cronies.

However, the molecule we are using while similar to a very recently rescheduled molecule but its NOT the same. Unfortunately because our supplier mislabeled it in their catalogue we are now in limbo with obtaining it. I've been told numerous times now the change of the name is way more than editing a name. The molecule has to be certified by the DEA that indeed it is not the same molecule and thus not-scheduled. I asked can't you create a new product with the correct spelling especially since the CAS, empirical formula and everything else clearly defines it as a different molecule to no avail.

So until this happens and I've been told it should be soon (but been told that every week going on 3 months now) that's the story and I'm sticking to it.
