So why not just put them into retail categories like the other products? The easiest way to explain this is that we don't want to muddle the categories with similar products and end up confusing prospective buyers. A product like Crush-XS is a time proven product thanks to Cohesion and community reporting. However adding this to the retail category could make choosing a product frustrating. Same thing with APi and Ascend. Their are just to many similarities and the process for a first-time pheromone user should be about excitement and fantasy of how the products will impact their lives.
On the other hand we have products like Mascot and Celebrity, which wouldn't really fit in the Mens Category and are not Unisexy either. To keep everyone happy and make the choices easy we're keeping these as Limited Editions. This does mean they will be considered a retail product but come with a caveat. I will let these go out of stock before something like Evolve. I made the mistake of making a Limited Edition batch of something using up all the Alpha-Nol in the process. That won't be happening again hopefully, but I am still human

These will all still be known as XS107 or whatever but instead they will have the name first: APi - XS (Formerly XS107).
The BEST part about this is you can now earn "reward points" on them, but wait it gets even more fabulous! I wanted you to know that we back these 100% so just like all of our retail products, from today going forward we will honor every Limited Edition under our no nonsense guarantee! Our community researchers will automatically be granted 30% off, the same as they would pheromone and research molecules and beta-test blends.
Please do not get the Limited Editions confused with the beta-test blends though. Beta is where products have made it past the alpha stages of testing and are now available for a wider audience to use and report their findings on. Some beta-tests will not make the cut even after revisions because of either no real progress, lack of solid and consistent results or just not enough commercial viability to continue to make. When this occurs they will be discontinued and yes we will provide you the formula to the best of our ability.
I say this with reserve though as some molecules we are keeping secret and will not be releasing even as research molecules. There's only about 6 of these and I'll let you know when one of them is present in a blend, but we just won't tell you what it is. Not even a hint

There's more good news though. Even the discontinued blends can be ordered as a custom when we have the resources available. It just means we are not offering it in the lineup. To keep something in stock I usually make about 12 at a time of beta-tests or divisions of twelve. That's a lot of product to tie up if its not selling. I can think of much better uses of the molecules, but at the same time if you like something you can still order it. Might take a couple days to put it together for you, but at least your research isn't a waste of your time, effort and money.
We used to move the beta-test blends that do prove themselves into the Limited Edition area as a sort of pre-release. Because of the aforementioned process we won't be happening this way. These blends will remain in the beta-test area but instead of being identified as XS129 Beta (PSE) they will now be known as XS129 PSE without the Beta in the middle. Maybe our Bad-Ass Technical Master Mr Idle can make a badge to better identify them. BTW Bad-Ass Technical Master Mr Idle is his official company position and title. Yep we like to have fun around here.
I think this all makes sense, but if you have questions, just hit me up with them. I'll try and do a better job explaining.
