[The] CPC Regional Manager Sam [C.] served as a volunteer for the annual Autism Speaks Walk ...in downtown Chicago on October 21. Sam has volunteered for this event for 12 consecutive years.
“I [want to give] back in as many ways as I can, and I know autism is something that affects many people around the world,†Sam said. “It is a pleasure to help out at this event that brings people together to work toward a common goal.â€
The event raises funds [for Autism Speaks.] The walk is also a time for participants to celebrate their loved ones with autism, connect with others, share stories, and meet local service providers and other event sponsors.

This year Sam was a flagger, which involved making sure bikers and walkers stayed in their designated lanes along the 3.1-mile course.
“It’s an important role because it helps keep people safe during the walk,†Sam said.
The 2023 Autism Speaks Walk raised [a significant amount,] bringing the organization one step closer to ensuring people with autism can reach their full potential.
“I enjoy seeing the joy on the faces of the participants of all ages,†Sam said. “Their enthusiasm gives me a warm feeling and motivates me to return as a volunteer year after year.â€
