Nobility to me almost has a sweet cinnamony type of scent. It surprisingly last awhile IMO.

Ouds are based on Agarwood, which isn't too far off from Sandalwood. Both are commonly used in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. It's a musky scent but has a softer tone to it, I suppose you could say baby powder but I don't think that does it justice.

I think I'm starting to realize I need to stop using Oud because a lot of people that I see often may not like it. Nobility is growing on me...I have 113 in it and like it a lot

@2000GT... I'm just reporting what I've heard in other forums, but I wont knock it till I try it @CJ in your opinion what do you think SO and nobility smell like? Another thing I like about nobility is that I can pass it off as axe body wash if someone asks me what I'm wearing.

Well, so far i haven't seen anyone complain about it yet, minus this one fellow in my office who is a bit of a DQ who said he was allergic to Oud. It wasn't the pheros, I've worn them before around him and not seen an affect. So it might be the actual components in the Oud. It could be the oils itself. Maybe he's allergic to Agarwood *shrugs* dunno. But so far, no complaints other than that. I'd ask for a sampler of the scent if you can during your next order. That way you don't have to worry about a bottle going to waste if you don't like the scent.

Nobility, in my opinion, smells like a milder version of Creeds' Original Santal or Mont Blanc Individuel. It's got that same hint of Big Red chewing gum in it. (Cinnamon)

thanks for the description, Shakes. I happen to love original santal so that's something to keep in mind for the winter time. :-)

SO? Nobility smells like its name. Just a very clean scent. Could be passed off as a soap scent or body wash Oud I think some of my coworkers might be allergic to it

@shakes-okay I thought I was just imagining the cinnamon smell. IMO perfect for this time of year. @CJ-SO=Sultans Oud.

Nobility is incredibly clean, to the point that until today I only had Ascend in Nobility and mistook the Nobility part of the scent as part of the cops. It just slid in without my nose even considering it. Very natural, the sort of scent you could get away with wearing even in places with a strict "no cologne" rule.

Sultan's Oud is a fantastically good Oud, and I'm not going to try and describe it any further because Ouds have a very particular, very distinct scent, and a strange way of changing throughout the wearing. Think of the stereotypical "what you think an Arab Sultan would smell like". Only scent I'd normally be willing to mix it with would be Nobility (some days, depending on how it smells, Pepper+Nutmeg is a slim possibility). However, it's an Oud - if SteveO wasn't so great as to charge the same for it as he does any other scent, it would be the most expensive in the store. Ouds are amongst the rarest, most premium scents you can buy. It's good for meeting middle age plus folks, who might recognise it and appreciate it. It's perfect if you're going anywhere near the UAE.

Pepper+Nutmeg is strong. It will overpower any other scent you choose to wear. It's pretty good though, being just those two ingredients it has a very fresh sort of scent. People will know you're wearing it though. Personally, I'd want to pair it up with something warm, maybe cinnamon-y, on cold days. Kinda reminds me of Christmas when I put it like that. Would probably go quite well with Nobility, actually.

Fresh Musk... in some ways it's kinda like Nobility. A little stronger. Again, very light, very dry, very clean, and safe to use pretty much anywhere.

Lastly, but no means leastly, FXS. Best scent on the list. Light and crisp, and has a way of getting your nose addicted. Hints of citrus, hints of something else I just can't place but it smells fantastic. If you have any doubt on what scent to get, pick FXS.

Thanks Euan, I appreciate your thoughts on the scents as well as others who contribute. My goal for this thread was to open a dialogue so that not only experienced XS mone users can express their thoughts and opinions but also to have a point of reference (with regards to scents) for those who are new to the XS community.

It's a grand idea Might be worth a similar thread in the Ladies' section for much the same, actually. Sorry it's such a long post, but I figured a massive thought dump would be the best approach to do more than just go "smells like this cologne" or "this is my ranked order".

Does fresh musk go well with fxs as I have other mones in fxs?
