Damn It Feels Good To Be A Bully

A brand new study just published from Canada has added weight to a new theory about bullying. The study*proposes that the behavior is genetic; an inherited trait that helps build social rank and sex appeal.
For anyone that’s been paying attention to social dynamics, the news that “bad boys” have a higher perceived social rank and thus are more attractive to women is nothing new.
The hypothesis is rooted in evolutionary psychology and could transform how schools confront the problem of bullying.
According to conventional wisdom, bullies were thought*to be troubled, or suffering from insecurities and lashing out due to abuse at home or harassment they sustained themselves. They were also often seen as coming from dysfunctional homes.
Researchers at Simon Fraser University surveyed a group of Vancouver high school students and found something else entireley. They found that bullies were least likely to be depressed, had the highest self-esteem and the greatest social status.
