  • Proper storage of pheromones

XSteveO and idle and others who might know...

What is the proper way to store powdered pheromones?

What is the proper way to store a formula? For example, if I have a bottle of Cohesion, should I put it in the refrigerator?

I know that each mone has different points at which it might break down, but what are the temperature ranges in which they are safe?

If my bottles of formulas are in a dark area that is less than 85 degrees F are they safe?

What if they are stored at 90 degree F?

What if I put them all in the freezer?

I'll probably ask follow up questions to your answer... and yes I did read the reply about the water to sugar and sugar to water.

The general rule of thumb is to keep in a cool, dry place... similar to what you would do with cologne/perfume. Keep it away from direct sunlight as UV rays are always damaging to some extent.

As for how cold or how hot, anything from the cold fridge to room temperature should be fine. Some users have left their bottles in the car during the summer and it still works fine with just some evaporation and leaking from increasing pressure due to heat (it's best not to leave it in the car or any hot environment though). On the other hand, I don't think you'd want to freeze it even if alcohol has a lower freezing point.

Never worked with powdered mones but I'd assume keep in a dry place, probably in a dessicator jar.

Mones come in raw powder form.

You need to dissolve it in alcohol/dpg before you can use it.

fdesa12 I always appreciate your input.

Now I'll ask what might sound like an amusing question, but I'm very serious.

Room temperature... What ever the temperature of the room happens to be is room temperature...

Right now my room temperature is 81 degrees F.

So what I'm really looking for is a range of numbers for temperature in F or C.

If anyone can provide that, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry I never responded to this. By room temp, I meant scientifically speaking so about 70-78 deg F

I would say 81 is okay. Even up to 90's. Just ensure that the bottles are sealed well and dark places tend to be cooler.

Xcc Room temperature I'm assuming the temperature you feel comfortable in. Where you're not sweating, and you're not feeling cold. I'd say that's maybe around 73F +/- 5-10 degrees.

These blends are made for regular folks like us, the only word of caution is not to leave them out in the sun or heat. Just any dark cool area will do. I have some blends that I don't use at the moment in a shoebox in my closet. It's always cool there! Have never had any problems storing like that.

Powdered form though, I do not know. I'm sure whoever sells it should provide instructions! Maybe the lab that manufactures it can provide that info.

Ixist Thank you for your ideas.

Yes, I wonder about those numbers for temperature. That would be about my guess, too.

Funny you should mention a shoe box in a closet... that's where mine are!
