A Friend of mine at Carnegie Mellon is doing some research building detector prototypes and I got on a list apparently. Using Nanotubes a multichannel air sniffer is in the works, Capable of detecting parts per billion, It may be sensitive for --***********************-****some Pheromone work.

I don't know what happened with all the asteriks, I think the phone rang.
Apparently this thing has like 16 or 64 channels. If you expose it to a smell, it records all the proportions. And it uses AI to turn these into a sort of map. Once you build a map of you particular smells. It uses some AI to sniff and then find if what it sniffs is in your catalogue. It would be pretty cool if it could sniff a pheromone and tell you its approximate contents and proportions.
Then, I wonder what kind of differences it would detect on different skin types or if we could catalogue our own natural pheromone curves. We might find why some work for some people and not others as well as differences in dosing.
