DUA brand fragrances

Shout out to Coconut who started me down the rabbit holes that lead me to DUA

DUA is a perfume house that prides themselves on "impression fragrances" of desiner and niche fragrances but they also are very popular for hybrids of designer fragrances and their own originals as well.

The majority of their products are unisex and men's with a fair selection for women - although the unisex opens up a much greater variety, so girls, check them out I've never liked labels anyway - wear what you love!

Pros;

• General longevity for the fragrances I've sampled (and there have been many, lol) is ALL DAY. I'm talking 8-10 hours and more.
• Projection varies, but most that I have sampled have been exceptional. 2-4 feet easily with a lovely scent trail as well.
• Unsolicited compliments. These fragrances are making it past masks
• They often have sales on weekends as much as 25 & 30% off. They have a FB page that will give you a heads up prior to re-stocking items and when the sales will be. I have yet to pay full price for anything.
• They have a large selection of what they call hybrids. These pull favored aspects of popular designer fragrances and combine them to crate a whole new, and yet familiar, fragrance. Some of these have become my favorites.

Cons;

• Not all impression fragrances are 100% like the OGs
• Some impression fragrances have an opening that may have you thinking there is no way this will be close, only to be impressed that the dry down is almost identical
• While some of the impressions aren't quite like the OGs, there are some that I have found I like very much (and have purchased full bottles of), even though they are not identical to the OG it's trying to represent. Wait. Is that a pro or a con?

Tonkalicious: Impression of Tonka Imperiale by Guerlain

Opening is spicy but doesn't seem to be quite the same spices as Tonka Imperiale, however the dry down is nearly identical and lasts for HOURS AND HOURS.

Projection and longevity for the DUA far outlasted the OG. OG lasts maybe 4 hours on me before disappearing to a very close skin scent. DUA goes all day, 8+ hours.


Vanilla Overload: Impression of Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain

This is one of those that I mentioned isn't quite like the OG, but it is SO good on its own merit I ordered it just because I love the smell of myself while wearing it Seems more intense, more vanilla? Boozy, smoky, nomiliciousness.

Again, longevity and projection are amazing and if you like the OG I cannot imagine you would not enjoy this 100%. The OG doesn't last more than 3-4 hours, VO - aaaaaaall day deliciousness.


Hybrid. Pomme Fire: DUA. Inspired by a hybrid of Kilian Paris Apple Brandy & Maison Martin Margiela By The Fireplace

Oh LAWD. This is amazing to me. You totally get the apple brandy booziness with the smoky, vanilla, woody, spicy, nuttiness.
Longevity and projection is phenomenal. Received an unsolicited, "Whatever you're wearing today? I really like this one. I'm mean, it's REALLY good." From a male co-worker...through masks....and face shields

Hybrid - Cherry by the Fire - DUA inspired by a hybrid of Tom Ford Lost Cherry and Maison Martin Margiela By the Fireplace

I had tried the sample of DUAs impression of Tom Ford Lost Cherry (Popped Cherry by DUA). I liked it, but it was "meh" to me. I have never smelled the OG TF so I can't compare, but DUAs is a beautiful, sweet, syrupy cherry but just not for me.

BUT they take that impression and mix it with other notes like some found in, By the Fireplace?

You get that indomitable sweet, fresh, syrupy cherry note along with chestnut accord, the woods and roasted Tonka beans all adding a smokiness and making this fragrance not just delicious, but interesting and unusual. The first day I wore it I was emphatically complimented by a male co-worker. He was "wowed" by it


Italiano - DUAs impression of Xerjoff Casamorati Italica

I have never smelled the OG to compare, but if they are even close, this is POSITIVELY, MOUTH WATERINGLY, DELICIOUS!
Opening spray is ver much almond (aka, cherry). It becomes creamy, vanillic and that butter toffee note, oh my!
Cherry caramels anyone? With a touch of spice in the dry down when the woods begin to come through...

Aoud Intense Orange - DUAs impression of Fragrance Du Bois Oud Orange Intense

Explodes out of the bottle with citrus, mostly orange, and coconut, not a candy sweet coconut, but like coconut meat in the shell. The orange/citrus notes dominate for quite a bit and then the boozy vanilla, Oud and musk begin to come through.

To me, this fragrance really shines in the dry down. Very sensual, slightly sweet, a bit boozy and an oud that is gentle and kind

Unusual for DUA, it seems quite the skin scent on me, but longevity is still good.

For DUA impressions, sometimes that opening is loud and lairy, but you give it 10-30 minutes and it becomes something magical and delicious.

This is one of those in my opinion. The citrus and musk seem like they may overwhelm or be too sharp in the opening half hour, but then once everything settles into the warmth of your skin and chemistry - POW! - Fireworks!

I have the OG of this one.
The dry down is VERY similar. The opening is not as harsh/loud, but again, in the DUA that passes.
FDB Oud Orange Intense is a skin scent on me as well and beautiful and sensual for sure. Definitely a great date night scent when you know someone special is going to be close enough to be captured by your aura/aroma

The DUA does beat the OG in longevity. The OG fades after a few hours on me (sad for such an expensive perfume!). DUA is still there 6-8 hours or more

Oh my! This is all luscious creamy vanilla, cocoa BOMB. It opens on the verge of tootsie roll but doesn't quite go there. No waxiness, just vanilla,
and sweet, creamy cocoa.

This is a beast, lasting all day, and garners compliments. Lots of, "Wow! Something smells really good here" and "Is that you? You smell SOOO good!"

I literally love myself when I wear this. It is just SO yummy! A chocolate lovers dream for sure

I've never smelled Kilian's Single Malt but DUAs impression is a really great fragrance.

I didn't get a sample of Casino Royale Nights but I DO like what they did when they made Dark Casino Royale Nights. It's DUAs twist on it. They enhanced some of the notes and it's very nice.

I think I overlooked quite a few of the Casinos...would be interested in your review of a chocolate Casino if it falls into your shopping cart I'm afraid if I get too many Casinos I won't want to wear the OGs anymore

Peach tends to hate my chemistry, lol, I got a sample fragrance from Be Layered that has peach and it seems my skin still does terrible things with peach 😟
BUT so many things Pomme! If you're skin loves peach, I bet you'd love that one
