Although I still haven't discovered a new signature fragrance, I have finally discovered what makes the current iteration of Mon Paris so different: Due to regulations, oakmoss can no longer be found in commercially available fragrances. Some niche brands still use it. Apparently, oakmoss is an important feature of any chypre fragrance.

        Read more about it here:
Oakmoss is banned in many fragrances due to potential allergenic properties. The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) has strict regulations restricting

I tried the intense version of Mon Paris recently. It's not the same as the original formula. While it is stronger, there is no jasmine, and I can't detect any fruit. It smells strongly of fresh cut gardenia, despite not actually having gardenia listed as one of the notes. Pleasant, but not what I'm looking for.

I have been veering away from jasmine and leaning toward violet and iris. Gourmand notes like vanilla are inescapable at the moment, so I've been experimenting with that as well, but I much prefer honey and cocoa butter.

        Fragrances I've been loving recently:
        • Lancome La vie est belle L'Elixir: Newly released. Sophisticated and exquisite.
        • JPG Classique essence de parfum: I've owned this for a while. Sensual and smooth. Due to the climate here, I can only pull this off in fall/winter.
        • D&G Devotion: Just tested this last week and I'm already obsessed. It's a shame I'm not dating anyone. It would be the perfect mantrap. (Jordan Samuel is about to release a perfume that is very similar to this one.)
